How to Graph y=x+2

Writer: LadueMathHelpLadueMathHelp

Explanation:

Assign any two arbitrary values to x and find out corresponding values of y. For example let x=0, so y=2 and for x=1, y =3 Now plot the two points (0,1) and (1,3). Join these two points to get the desired graph.

  1. Let x=0 Then, y=2(0)−1 y=−1

  2. Let x=1 Then, y=2(1)−1=2−1 y=1

  3. Let x=2 Then, y=2(2)−1=4−1 y=3

We can then make a table for x and corresponding y values as follows:

x⋆⋅(0)⋆⋅(1)⋆⋅(2) y⋆⋅(−1)⋆⋅(1)⋆⋅(3)

So, you'll get three points on the graph with x-coordinates and y-coordinates that can be taken from the table as (0,−1),(1,1)and(2,3)
